What we think:
Bois Imperial is a well-blended mix of woodsy, fresh, spicy, and green, without going over the top in any direction. Although Bois Imperial has some dark notes, it has a lot of freshness to it as well, and the patchouli here is of the cleaner variety. Akigalawood can sometimes have oud-like tendencies, it's not like that here - there's no animalic or pungent vibe to Bois Imperial.
We could see wearing it for the same type of occasion as something like Givenchy Gentlemen Only. It's very masculine-leaning to us, in a classy yet understated way. The woodsiness here is very cozy and comforting, almost like the pages of a library book, but in a way that could also be worn professionally.
