Parfums de Marly Perseus Sample

The 2024 fragrance by Parfums de Marly featuring notes of grapefruit, vetiver, ambergris, and dry woods.

Our Parfums de Marly Perseus Review:

Perseus opens with a dry yet juicy grapefruit, done in a tart way that's closer to real grapefruit than the sugary grapefruit accords used in some fragrances. Here, it almost makes us think of  a gin and tonic take on grapefruit. The tartness is furthered by the blackcurrant, bergamot, and geranium, but they really combine into serving as nuances of grapefruit. We would say the grapefruit is done in the style of how it's used in scents like Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Forever Pour Homme. 

As the fragrance progresses, vetiver swoops in, but the grapefruit accord here lasts a surprisingly long time, and is in a way furthered by how the ambergris accord is used. By the drydown, it's like the style of vetiver in Grey Vetiver by Tom Ford and Terre d'Hermes, along with some musk and woods.
