Our Margiela Under the Stars Review

This is not the typical designer scent, and props to Margiela for doing a niche quality release. It's way more interesting than most designer fragrances!

The oud accord here is almost like a smooth take on rubbery animalic oud. That is, it's not screechy, but it's not mild either -  it makes a statement. It makes us think of scents by Memo, Nasomatto, and Parfums de Marly.

The spice is warm but not on fire, and the ambery labdanum is sultry. The leather is balsamic, and the other woods are deep and dark yet smooth.

It's not for everyone - it can come across challenging, and the cypriol and musk might turn some off. But the quality and interesting factors are there! It's worth checking out if you're into the notes and/or a Margiela stan.
