Escale en Haiti opens with a very authentic vetiver, like smelling the plants up close. At times it's green in a brisk juniper-like way. The type of vetiver used in Escale en Haiti is intentionally grown longer to let the scent mature and bring out all the nuances, so the fragrance has more of an authentic rootsy vibe too, aromatic and fresh but in an earthy way. Yet the earthiness here isn't dirty or pungent, just nature and nature-y and actually almost clean - and certainly could be seen as refined. This would be great to try if you're looking for a vetiver scent that's both fresh AND earthy.
It's a very authentic vetiver scent, yet doesn't smell like roasted peanuts the way that some really rich authentic vetiver scents do. Really well-balanced take on it!
