What we think:
Rosendo Mateu No. 7 is a smooth woodsy oud, which smells deep but not barnyard or too challenging as far as oud goes. The oud here has some similarities with how it's done in M7 by Yves Saint Laurent. The vanilla is elegant and slightly fluffy, not sugary, and very well-blended; it melds with the other notes. The patchouli is very noticeable but again softened by the vanilla in a way that really works, not like some dark vs sweet scents where it comes across as clashing.
The fragrance overall has a warmth to it, yet also a sense of calm. To us it's a good combination of smelling rich and deep and natural but also much more smooth and wearable than most takes like that on this notes combination.
