Zoologist King Cobra Sample

What we think:

We love King Cobra! We was already excited to see that a new Zoologist fragrance was coming out, but finding out that it was by our favorite perfumer Prin Lomros? We couldn't wait to smell it - and we're happy to say it delivers big-time!

We would be pretty surprised if the average person who enjoys Prin Lomros fragrances dislikes this. It's very much in line with his usual work - a captivating, spiritual combination of incense and earthy, but with some freshness peeking out between the cracks as well.

We could see the average person who isn't into fragrance thinking this was on the more challenging side - though we could also see them thinking it smelled enthralling. But as far as Prin Lomros fragrances go, we definitely wouldn't categorize it as one of the more challenging. We would say the same for earthy incense fragrances in general. For the right person's taste, King Cobra is extremely wearable.

The petitgrain and mandarin are filtered through a haze of incense smoke and fresh soil, but they're still detectable and bright behind that. The fig leaf is just used to add nuance to other notes, and King Cobra isn't a figgy fragrance at all. We don't always like the smell of cannabis accords, but here it works really well in combining the smoky incense and the earth. The cumin adds a warm edge, and the moss contributes further to the forest floor feel. We're not big fans of patchouli in general, but the way Prin Lomros uses it (or the type he uses) never seems to be an issue.

Highly recommended for anyone who likes earthy incense fragrances, whether or not you're a typical fan of most Zoologist perfumes.
