What we think:

Dunhuang is very high quality and well-blended. In the opening, we mainly get jasmine tea, Lapsang Souchong, and civet. Florals are present but to us they work more as support in uplifting the other notes, rather than this just being an overwhelmingly floral-dominated scent. The anise doesn't get too licorice-y, and the spice here is done in a sophisticated way, rather than overly intense. 

Pretty versatile scent; unisex and works for different weather/seasons. Smells elegant yet also might be challenging for some who aren't into niche or vintage-style scent profiles!
